I wanted to create this blog to open discussion on any number of topics. Each day I plan to post a question or a thought. Topics for discussion will range from news and politics to sports and music to issues concerning our local community and Pilgrim High School.
Each time you post a comment expressing your opinion on the topic I post, you will earn credit towards which ever class you are in. Just keep your comments and language appropriate, and try to express your opinion clearly.

ReplyDeleteYou should create a topic based on pop-culture and ever ones' obsession with it. Lately it seems that not only is pop-culture cool to talk about it is also cool to critize it.Why is it that people have a fun obsession with Twilight jokes, Lady Gaga's questionable sexuality/gender and Justin Beiber being 12?
ReplyDeleteI for feel as if I am amoungst the few that don't like pop culture..but I don't spend my precious time bad mouthing it either.
^^ kat, i agree with you 100% because i am sick of people spending all their time making fun of pop culture. it's cool if you like justin bieber, and i'm not afraid to admit that i do, i don't have bieber-fever but i do appreciate him as an artist and the fact that he's been singing and playing multiple instruments from such a young age. and yes, his voice was a little high at first because he was young, but there's no reason to hate him for it. i've actually had people tell me that he deserves to die because he's so stupid, now that's ridiculous. he is a talented kid and just because you don't like the music that he plays doesn't mean you have to wish such horrible things upon him. same with twilight, some people, girls and guys, love to read the books. i personally love the books myself but if i thought they were stupid i wouldn't spend all my time and energy bashing the books and the people who read them.
ReplyDeletei just think that people should keep some of their opinions to themselves, well at least the ones that just make them sound stupid. & people should spend more time talking about the things that they like and sharing it with other people rather then just criticizing what others like.
